So it’s about 11:00 and the election results aren’t official yet but things are looking very good for Obama right now.

I feel a dread and hope at the same time.  Hope that I will wake up tomorrow and find out that after hundreds of years of slavery and discrimination, a black man will have ascended to the highest office in the land.  Dread that I will wake up and find out that the dirty tricks of his opponent will have succeeded.

If my hopes are fulfilled, we could be at a truly historic moment in our nation’s history.  What was it like for those who watched Kennedy’s inaguration?  I feel that Obama, by sheer force of will, can make this country a better place.
