This wouldn’t be that much of an issue if Apple would simple open up the iPhone so that you could put any app from any website on the phone.  Because Apple has decided to go about iPhone security the old fashioned way – by making itself the arbiter of anything that goes on the iPhone – these silly situations will continue.
